Curbshop along with me today!

I would so love to have you all join me on a curbshopping expedition this morning. Sometimes it really stinks when you find something great and there’s nobody around to share the excitement! You would “get it”, right? You know, the heart stopping moment when you spot something interesting up ahead in the distance?

So let me take you along on a recent expedition (last Wednesday morning to be exact) This is a tour of my favorite neighborhood to shop, I told you about it in my post over at Gail’s blog, here.

Oh, we are off to a good start already! Look at this!

A cute wood framed mirror peeking out of a trash bin. Score!

or what about this………..

It’s the bottom half of an old wooden youth chair, very sturdy.

And a chair seat. Could this become the basis of a sign? or maybe a chalkboard?

Ooh, is that a trunk?

Yup, it is, but not so great. It had obviously been stored in a very wet basement. yuck! I think I’ll pass on that one.

Wood is always fun to find. This plywood was in great shape, and I absolutely love the yellow and grey old Formica pieces. Definitely keepers there.

Look at this one, could that be a dresser? You don’t know me that well, but I think you may have already figured out my love for dressers (or chests of drawers as many of you call them).

Not a very good picture, but I was so excited I jumped out to get a closer look and didn’t get another shot of it.

The adrenaline was really pumping by this time.

Turns out it was really too far gone to pick up, but the decorative front leg piece, (see it sticking up out of the drawer opening?) it’s like that piece was waving me down, hoping I would stop to rescue it from the wreck. So of course, being the good Samaritan I am, I DID!

And then, buried underneath the ruined dresser I found the matching mirror….Sorry no picture of that in this batch, but it was a nice solid square wood framed mirror. And you will soon find out I have a passion for mirrors too…..so I snagged that for my collection. All in all this particular curb wasn’t so bad after all.

I’m in love! It’s a small desk, youth size. I think I’m seeing a nightstand here, what do you see?

Ok, my heart is still pounding so hard! I think I got my fix for this morning, how about you?

Gotta go now, it’s trash day somewhere!
